The Leo Club of Kathmandu Janmabhumi had an inspiring and action-packed Leo year 2023/24. Throughout the year, our members came together to serve communities, build leadership, and create meaningful experiences. From board meetings to cultural celebrations, and from social awareness campaigns to relief activities, our journey was filled with energy, learning, and teamwork.
Below is a brief glimpse of the various programs we organized during the year.

📝 Membership and Meetings
We began the year by opening membership forms for new young volunteers on August 25, 2023, followed by our first board meeting on October 7 and first general meeting on October 10 at Koteshwor.
Throughout the year, we held regular board and general meetings — both physical and online — ensuring smooth planning, updates, and team bonding. These meetings built a strong foundation for our activities and helped our members develop organizational and leadership skills.
🕯️ Peace, Awareness & Cultural Activities
In October, our members lit candles at Bouddha Stupa praying for peace for Nepali students affected by the Israel attack.
We also organized:
-
World AIDS Day awareness program at Mahadevsthan Mandir
-
World Cancer Day and World Leprosy Day awareness activities
-
Celebrations of Topi Diwas, Holi Festival, and the 66th International Leo Day
Such programs helped us spread awareness on social issues while preserving our culture and traditions.
🌱 Service & Social Impact
Our commitment to community service remained strong with impactful programs like:
-
Preserving Cultural Heritage and Plantation at Banglamukhi Temple
-
Food distribution and hunger relief at Bal Samrakshan Sangsthan
-
Support program for differently abled children
-
Symbolic protest and financial relief support during tough times
-
Free health camp and volunteer management
Each of these events reflected our core Leo values of compassion, action, and service to others.
🧥 Cloth Collection & Donation Campaign
During December and January, our club carried out a major cloth collection campaign at NCIT, Apex, and Universal College.
We then organized:
-
Phase 1 Donation at Shantinagar Corridor
-
Phase 2 Donation at Pashupati Corridor
Through these drives, we were able to spread warmth to underprivileged individuals during winter.
⚽ Sports, Fellowship & Leadership
We believe fellowship is key to building strong teams. This year, we hosted and participated in:
-
Futsal tournaments (Leo Week Celebration, Prayasnagar Futsal, Inter-Leo Futsal, and Leo Olympics)
-
Picnic and fellowship gatherings
-
Area Level Leadership Institute (ALLI) Program
-
Leopreneurs Assembly Program
These activities strengthened our bonds and developed confidence and teamwork among members.
💻 Milestones & Achievements
One of our proud moments was the launch of our official website and the distribution of official LCKJ dress to members on December 28, 2023.
We also successfully conducted our Club Induction and Semi-Annual Award Ceremony on February 5, 2024, celebrating achievements and recognizing dedicated members.
Leo Club of Kathmandu Janmabhumi will continue to carry the spirit of youth service, fellowship, and leadership forward in the coming years too. Together, we grow by serving others.
